What your child will learn
A infant from 6 months to around 12 months will learn how to hold their breath underwater, roll onto their back and float unassisted until someone rescues them. A child from about 1 year and older, will learn how to hold their breath underwater, swim head down, roll onto their back to float for rest and breath, then roll back over to resume swimming, repeating this pattern until they reach the side of the pool to get out or wait for help. These lessons are tailored to each individual student and lessons will differ based on individual needs, honoring and respecting each child's personality and learning level. What you will needEach day you will need to bring three towels, two pairs of re useable swim diapers (disposable swim diapers are not allowed in the pool) and your BUDS sheet.
Lesson Timeline Most students under 12 months will learn to roll to their back and float within 4-5 weeks of lessons. For children over 12 months it typically takes 6-8 weeks to master all skills. All lessons are private one-on-one lessons and 10 minutes each day Monday thru Friday.
Refresher LessonsDue to the tremendous physical changes of infants and young children, refresher lessons are highly recommended every 6 months until the student is a proficient swimmer.
